3 Months Old!

Baby girl is getting big!!

I think back on the times I was preggy and I had NO IDEA what I was in for. What I imagined Evelyn to be doesn't even compare to what she is. She has exceeded every expectation and has blessed me beyond what I could have ever imagined. We prayed so long and so hard for her and the Lord has truly blessed those prayers.

Month 3 has been fun. Evelyn has started to follow things with her eyes so well. She will watch me everywhere I walk. Or just follow my hand when I wave it around. She is also SO VOCAL. She is already a Chatty Cathy. She loves to mimic the sound you make. I'm thinking she is going to be musical. I sang a lot when she was in my belly, tried playing guitar and piano a lot too (didn't happen as often as I'd liked though). She smiles a ton. Like, pretty much all the time. If she starts to fuss, and  you just smile at her, she will stop crying and smile at you. It's amazing. Happy baby = happy momma. She is  a great sleeper. She takes solid naps and sleeps really great at night. So incredibly thankful. She's a great eater too. Obviously, just look at her ROLLS!! ahahah

Evelyn Loves:

  • To roll over
  • to pull my hair (OUCH! and don't even suggest me cut my hair... NEVER gonna happen)
  • Hold on to toys (this is fairly new. I LOVE IT)

  •  Sit in her vibrating chair... even when mommy is laying out in the back yard (easiest and best baby... EVER)

  • Explore her environment.
  • To sit up (with help)
  • Mommy's milk
  • Her bunny (start praying we never lose it! ha!)
  • Road trips (slept the whole way to Bham in May! Didn't even fuss over 5 minutes)
  • Snuggling
  • Her pink blanky
  • Her swing
  • Looking at herself in the mirror
  • Bath time
Evelyn is:
  • 14 lbs
  • 24.5 inches long
Evelyn still loves her Moby Wrap! However, we are getting pretty big and I'm thinking of getting an Ergo.

The EARLY weeks. She's so tiny!

First month or so

2 months
Look how much she has grown!!

Getting chubbier every month!!

Month 1

Month 2
Month 3
Same outfit. Different Month.

There will ALWAYS be a tutu involved.  I just noticed the bows get bigger every month... oops.

Then and now. The cheeks just keep getting chunkier! It's like she's storing nuts in there for the winter! :)

I love being a mom. It's brought me so much joy. I love her more than my words can even express. Everyday, I love her more than the day before. Evelyn, you have stolen my heart. I thank God for you probably 10,000 times a day. Thank you for being you. I love watching you grow little peanut. Always be my little baby girl...

3 Years of Teaching... DONE!

Year one... you can read about here.

Year two... you can read about here. And watch my class video from that year.

Year three...

Year three wasn't at Tarrant but Crums Lane Elementary.

Teaching is a seriously beautiful thing. You get to see children come into your classroom and you get to teach them and mold them for a year and then send them on to the next grade. As a teacher, you have so much impact on every child. I pray my impact is GOOD and that each child knows that I value them and treasure them. A lot of my students don't have someone that "treasures" them, so I always try to be that person. There can be a lot of negative sides to teaching and it can be tiring and stressful, but the good always outweighs the bad. The good is that you can change a child's life and help them strive to be better... educationally and morally. I love being a teacher. I believe it has prepared me for motherhood in some ways.

My first day of school was interesting... I was pregnant and SICK! Morning sickness was pretty much 24/7 and NO fun!

We played fun math games throughout the year...

We learned a lot and took tons of tests...

AND DANCED...

Thank you room 217 for a great year...

YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUR HARLEM SHAKE VIDEO!!

These kids... they are the best. They are the reason I do what I do!!
